Kidney stones form from minerals in concentrated urine. They may cause severe pain in the back or side, pain on passing urine, or blood in the urine — though small stones sometimes cause no symptoms at all.

How a consultation works

This is a condition that needs imaging and a urologist to assess: stone size and position decide what is appropriate, and larger stones can obstruct the kidney. The clinic discusses hydration and diet and will direct you to the right specialist. Severe pain, fever or blood in the urine needs emergency care the same day.
